The Wedding of Mister Mickey Mouse

The Wedding of Mister Mickey Mouse (auf dem Titelblatt auch The Wedding of Mr Mickey Mouse genannt) ist ein Lied der Musikrichtung Novelty Fox-trot, welches 1933 in London von Keith Prowse veröffentlicht wurde. Der Liedtext stammt von Edward Pola und die Musik von Franz Vienna. Das britische Merchandising stand nicht unter denselben strengen Regeln wie das US-amerikanische, weshalb die beiden Figuren Micky Maus und Minnie Maus im Lied heiraten, obwohl sie bis heute in den USA nur befreundet sind.

Das dazugehörige Cover wurde von Wilfred Haughton gezeichnet, der für viele der britischen Disney-Merchandiseartikel Zeichnungen anfertigte.

Wolfgang J. Fuchs geht in seinem Buch Micky Maus – Das ist mein Leben davon aus, dass das Lied ein Gedankenexperiment ist, "wenn man die Worte richtig liest". Tatsächlich ist der ganze Text in der Zukunftsform geschrieben, diese Hochzeit fand also noch nicht statt – oder zumindest nicht in der Form.

Ein weiteres Lied über die Hochzeit von Micky und Minnie ist The Wedding Party of Mickey Mouse (1932-36) und Mikkel Mus Bryllupsmarch (1932).

The big brown bear will dance for all the company,

The band will play a one-step and a gavotte,

And then the fox will dance a real fox-trot;

Clarabelle the cow will jump right over the moon,

Then you’ll hear Pluto croon the latest tune.

Preacher man will see the knot is properly tied,

He’ll shake hands with the groom, and kiss the bride;

Then off they’ll go to find their gingerbread house,

Where they’ll be happy as Mister and Missus Mickey

Mouse.
